Located at 161 Washington Street, in Marblehead, Massachusetts, one will find the Jeremiah Lee Mansion, a grand example of a 1768 Georgian mansion. Operated by the Marblehead Mansion & Historical Society and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960 , it is noted to be one of the finest late Georgian houses, not only in New England, but in the United States.

Built by Colonel Jeremiah Lee, a ship owner and one of the wealthiest merchants in the English North America colonies, the home still features original finely-crafted and detailed woodwork, hand-painted wallpaper from the 18thcentury, and a grand entry hall and staircase paneled with rich mahogany.
