A New Year Update from New England Fine Living

One of my simple pleasures and the first of many Fine Living Moments I will be officially sharing with you.

Fine Living to me is enjoying a quite morning before the sun rises with a cup of coffee in a pretty cup, a book full of beautiful photos for design inspiration, and a fire in the fireplace. One little extra step I like to take for my coffee preparation when the Mr. is away… a dash of cinnamon is added to my coffee grounds before brewing.

New England Fine Living - home and lifestyle posts

It’s the first full week of the new year and I thought this would be a great time to share some of my thoughts and plans for New England Fine Living in 2019. I’m creating a post schedule not only for my sanity, but to mimic the original business plan when New England Fine Living first began. You see, back in the day of dial-up, I was one of the first pioneers in home and lifestyle blogging, especially about and for New England businesses. New England Fine Living was originally three different blogs/websites I ran within my design and retail store business. One was called Fine Living Muse, another was Bliss at Home, and yet another was The High-Heeled-Hostess. Those old blog names have become the inspiration for some of my scheduled home and lifestyle blog posts and YouTube channel topics.

I just mentioned there will be a schedule for my home and lifestyle posts here, on my IG feed, and my YouTube channel, but for awhile, they will be a bit random. I need to find my rhythm while in the midst of our home remodel, writing and researching for my future book endeavor, and dare I say possibly a 6th issue of NEFL.  That said, I am pretty good at juggling, even though I know for a fact I will drop a few balls here and there.

Title Topics From New England Fine Living

1.    Fine Living Moments - I will post my personal fine living moments (like the picture posted above) for those looking for inspiration to create their own version of fine living. This will include things I do and places I visit such as, home, garden and lifestyle topics, historic town tours, upscale travel and leisure destinations. If you have some things you would like me to cover, please share your thoughts below.

2.    With Love from New England – I will be highlighting home or lifestyle products or services based out of New England, no matter how simple or grand.

3.    New England Fine Real Estate – Gain virtual access to quintessential New England homes and properties that are for sale. This will be both residential and commercial properties (such as Inns or Bed & Breakfast properties located in historic buildings for sale). Some of the properties I have found during my travels around New England, while others have been brought to my attention by their listing agent (New England Realtors… contact me to find out more about sharing your New England home or business listing ;-). These New England real estate listings will of course focus on historic and antique properties (or reproductions) found in New England’s six states.

4.    High Heeled Homemaker - Entertaining, Decorating, DIY, Crafting, Recipes, Cocktails.

5.    Fine Living Finds – Sharing both new and pre-loved purchases or items sent to us that complement our brand of home and lifestyle topics. I will also be sharing the locations I found the item(s) or a link to further information.

6.    Fine Living Musing – Random thoughts and moments that might enhance the lives of others.

7. NEFL Approved - Please note this will not be weekly. Businesses, locations, products, or services that pass the New England Fine Living approved checklist will get a certificate or sticker to post and a special hashtag from us to use. If another feed uses the #NEFLapproved tag on their photo, please note they have not been approved by us unless you also find their information here on our blog or YouTube Channel.

8. Telepathic Posts - Everyone needs a social media time out, including me whether I like it or not. On the days I do take off, please keep in mind, while you’re scrolling through your social media feeds and see something you like that inspires you, it was most likely me helping you find them. You know I’m kidding right?…… I almost never take a day off ;-).

I would just like to note that some of my posts are sponsored or collaborations with other companies, but I will always make note of that. I will not post anything my Mr. and I won’t use, visit, or purchase ourselves since I am super finicky and picky about what I will share. For those who would like to collaborate or sponsor a post, please make sure you believe your product or service aligns with New England Fine Living’s brand focus.

Below are four items that were actually used in the opening photo. The Great American House , by Gill Shager III, is a book that I look at many times over, especially during our renovation, the Java Logs have become a regular source of easy ambiance and they do throw off heat in the smaller rooms of our antique home, sorry, they do not smell like coffee. A New England brand, Dunkin Donuts coffee is one of our regular coffees and I like to buy Simply Organic cinnamon. PS: By clicking on the photos or links in this post it will either take you to another page on my blog or to an outside source, such as an affiliate link for further information of to purchase an item. If you purchase an item, I MIGHT receive a commission, but that is not always the case since I love to share even if there is no business collaboration.
