Spring 2018 Pantone Colors - The Perfect Classic New England Color Palette

There are more spring 2018 colors on the Pantone list, but these are their classic color selections and I think this year, their spring color selections are going to make a lot of coastal New Englanders and those who gravitate towards some of Ralph Lauren's classic and traditional room styles happy! Colors such as Sailor Blue, Harbor Mist, Warm Sand, and Coconut Milk are on the list.  Below I am showing a few rooms with these classic New England colors. Some of room colors shown are a little more or less intense than the Pantone colors, but it will help you envision the possibilities. What is fun to see is that these interiors come from all over the world... not just New England.   Photo credits can be found on our Pinterest page unless otherwise noted below the photo.  I have also selected a few accessories and items from one of our affiliate programs (more about that on our about page) that are similar to home decor items shown in some of the photos.

I first saw this photo on my Instagram feed and  This adorable pup and photo belong to Heather Chadduck @heatherchadduck and the colors showcase what are now the Pantone spring 2018 palette perfectly. Heather was ahead of the design curve!

With a nod towards a British Colonial style, this room could be easily changed to look more like it was in a New England home by changing out the ceiling fan and the style of the four poster bedposts. Room by Barclay Butera

Set against a deep blue wall, several patterns of blue and white bedding, including navy blue cable knit pillows, accentuate the iron bed.

Navy blue walls and crisp white trim are the perfect backdrop for connecting two separate spaces.  This photo is of A New England style guest house in East Brisbane, Australia by interior designer Greg Natale. The navy grasscloth is by Ralph Lauren.

A small dose of blue, but just enough. This room straddles the line of masculine with a nod towards a feminine touch.

A traditional New England space.  Tone on tone striped walls, a rich-colored herringbone patterned floor, and classic furniture pieces complement each other.  A glass finial adds a whimsical touch to the stair railing.  Photo credit New England Home Magazine.

The photos above were taken during a shopping excursion while driving along old route 1 in Maine.  The store is Pallian & Company, in Wells, Maine, and it is one of my numerous favorite home lifestyle stores to visit.

I just had to include this photo.  The blue rock candy with sand colored sticks placed in the white milk-glass container was too perfect not to share.

The navy blue wall really makes this Venetian glass mirror take center stage.  Add to that the white painted trim and lights sand colored floor... perfection

The tufted blue bench and sand colored sofa are connected by the use of a patterned carpet with similar colors.  If you like the look of this tufted bench with its nailhead trim, but can't find one with nailhead trim, like the ones shown in my furniture selection below, you can purchase these or have a local upholsterer add them for you.

By interior designer Greg Natale. The navy grasscloth, by Ralph Lauren, looks marvelous atop crisp white wainscoting. Prints with tones of off white backgrounds add a historic flair to the space.

Looking for a runner without the large cost?  How about painting your own stair runner.  I will be creating a full post around this topic in the future, but for now, I wanted to share this navy blue and white stairway with you.
