How I made lavender wands for the first time
My lavender wands are a little crude compared to the professionals, but I gave myself and A for effort and I look forward to making more!
I needed to plant six large pots of lavender that I recently picked up at a local nursery, but first, I needed to harvest the lavender that is almost past its prime for making lavender wands. I’ve been wanting to do this for years, but decided this is the year I’m going to do it!
This happens to be English Munstead, the quintessential culinary lavender that I like to plant so that I can use the buds not only for crafting, but for recipes. The lavender that is best to make crafts, like these lavender wands is French Lavender.
Please keep in mind, the lavender wands I am making in my YouTube video are very crude compared to those a professional makes or those for sale online. I’m not making my lavender wands to sell… I’m making them to tuck under our pillows, tuck into linen cabinets, and into drawers. They are used to also keep moths out of clothing and blankets. That I will need to give a try since moths are still working their way into my cedar walk-in closet.
